Touch and Post-Touch Devices

Over 1/2 of the US owns a tablet and more than 1/2 own a smartphone.  That’s an undeniably growing trend toward a preference for touch screen devices.  Will everything be touch screen?  How can my company benefit from them? What comes after touch?  Will we ever get those fancy Minority Report interfaces?  Dave Linabury will answer all of these questions and bring with him some touchscreen devices and apps you probably haven’t seen before.

Dave Linabury runs a social marketing practice in the Detroit area. He is frequently sought out by companies for his social media strategies, understanding of handling social crises and reputation issues and for training employees on how to run their social media presences effectively. He is an internationally recognized speaker and panelist at major social media conferences and universities across the globe.

Dave has been working digitally since 1984 when he bought his first Macintosh. By 1987, he had authored two software programs and by 1994, won his first Web site design award. Since then he has helped a variety of companies, including the General Motors Innovation Zone (a think tank for advanced technologies), Los Alamos National Laboratories, IDEO and Disney.

He has won over 40 awards, including a Webby for his personal blog, Davezilla. Dave joined Campbell-Ewald Advertising in 2004, leaving the GM Innovation Zone. There he formed and directed four new disciplines the agency was sorely lacking: Information Architecture, Social Media, Content Strategy and SEO.

Dave’s became one of the first bloggers when he began posting to Davezilla in 1998. By 2000, he began assisting Michel–a developer in France–on one of the first database-run blogging applications (then called B2 Cafélog). In 2004, they turned B2 over to Matt Mullenwegg who renamed it ‘WordPress’. It is now the most commonly used platform for blogging–one out of every five sites in the US is powered by WordPress.

Dave believes a great user experience keeps customers coming back and that nothing beats a real human managing your social profiles–automated content just doesn’t cut it,

Dave is still doing what he does best: coming up with great Web and mobile app ideas for companies and corporations. He can be reached for speaking engagements, social and experiential marketing work or just to chat on twitter.com/Davezilla.
