In 2001, he began working on the B2 team, helping develop the blogging platform that is today known as WordPress. Dave has over five years experience working on numerous government social media accounts, including the United States Navy, the United States Post Office, the United States Mint and the United States Naval Academy. Dave is the creator of the award-winning Navy for Moms community run by Campbell-Ewald. Dave is well known in the blogging and social media community and is a frequently sought speaker at social media conferences.

Scott Vowels started his career in IT as a computer technician at an academic hospital. In the able hands of many great technicians he learned networking and system administration. His security interest and passion started simply enough in the early 1990s, when he was asked to find a way to exchange healthcare related data with other companies. After building a BBS and realizing that it might be a good idea to encrypt this data … the journey began. Vowels currently works in Information Security for a financial institution managing security engineering professionals where his responsibilities include security architecture, engineering, consulting, infrastructure support, incident response/forensics and security intelligence.
