Building the Narrative

When we present our ideas, we are in essence making an argument.  We are making our case to the audience like a lawyer to a jury.  But how many of us structure our ideas in that way?  How often do we create a tangible goal for the presentation itself?  In this session, we will look at how to build a compelling narrative that will guide your audience to the actions you want them to take.  We’ll also look at why certain presentation styles work well, while others fail to get results and what you can do to modify your own personal style.

Gordon Kangas is the founder and owner of Fluent, a company that helps individuals and organizations improve their presentation skills.  Drawing from eight years of stage acting, puppetry and stand-up comedy, Gordon adapted the storytelling skills of performance into the Fluent Model for business.

Fluent provides workshop seminars to groups as well as one-on-one coaching for specific presentations.  The goal is to help clients maintain their personal voices and strengths while becoming “fluent" in the language of presenting.
