Last spring the Big Ten Conference added Nebraska, giving the league 12 teams. So, what do you do — change the name to the Big 12? No, because that name’s already taken by another conference — which, naturally, now has ten teams. So the Big Ten decided to keep its name — and change everything else.

Bacon has taught at Miami of Ohio, Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, and the University of Michigan. In 2009, he was awarded Michigan’s Golden Apple Award, and his course was named one of “America’s Ten Hottest Classes” by The Daily Beast. He also delivers speeches around the world, provides commentary on Michigan Radio, detnews.com and the annarborchronicle.com every Friday morning, and co-hosts three shows on WTKA.com, 1050 AM.
Pete Bigelow wears many hats at AnnArbor.com. Some of his other duties include writing columns and hosting a live chat during Michigan football games. He has more than 12 years of experience in journalism since graduating from Rutgers University, and spent three years as the sports editor at The Ann Arbor News before joining the Web site. Prior to that, Pete spent seven years at The Daily Times-Call in suburban Denver, serving as the assistant sports editor and beat writer covering the Denver Broncos. Journalism may be his first career path, but it’s not the only one. Pete holds his commercial pilot’s license and also worked as a FAA-certified flight instructor in Colorado. He keeps his feet firmly planted on the ground in Dexter, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
